Although I don't necessarily love frigid winter weather, I love Fall and Winter fashion, especially in New York, a city that I believe encourages and celebrates individual style expression. In the colder months, I love to express my personal style through layering, I can have fun with different textures, colors, and patterns, which is exactly what I did with this look. The outfit is a recent find from Zara. TRead More
It felt like the perfect crisp cool Fall day yesterday in Brooklyn. After church, we brunched at Piquant. I haven't been to Piquant in a few years, and wondered why I hadn't. Delicious food, affordable brunch and bottomless mimosas - I made a mental note to come here for brunch more often. After brunch we spent some time outdoors enjoying the cool Fall air. We then spent the rest of the evening at Weather Up, which has quickly become one of my favorite places for cocktails and conversation in Brooklyn.Read More
I love Sundays! It's the perfect day to relax and get the mind renewed and ready for the week ahead. I don't know why they call it "lazy Sundays," I prefer "renewal Sundays." Taking the time out to relax is so important in our extremely busy culture. I usually spend my Sundays catching up on reading, writing in my journal, calling my loved ones and/or attending church.
I imagine Sundays look very different for parents and/or folks with families, for now I will cherish the quiet time I have to create "me time Sundays." Right now it's excessively hot in L.A. so I chose to wear a comfortable monochromatic beige outfit to help me beat the heat. It may be Fall in other parts of the country, but it's definitely still Summer here.
Since I work during the week, I run a lot of errands on the weekend. As a result, I like my daytime weekend look to be comfortable, which is really another way of saying, I reach for flats a lot during my errand running. This past weekend, I wore a daytime mini dress and my favorite pair of black flats. Although it was hot outside, I reached for a cropped denim jacket, because indoor air conditioning makes me cold. Have you noticed that I have posted two black, white and denim looks in a row?
I've decided to give my hair a break from relaxers and grow it out. I am incorporating extensions to help me with the grow out process for the next couple of months. So far, I love the new do!
On Sunday, I attended a tea party. When I hear tea party I think "classy and modest." For the look, I envision a pretty dress and a lovely set oh pearls....oh and white gloves. Can you tell that my idea of a tea party is somewhat colored by 19th century romantic literature and old British movies? I wore this midi dress, because while it's classy and modest, it also has a funky fun floral detail that I love; it's a midi dress (and I'm currently having a love affair with midis) and it's super comfortable.Read More
