Our Elegant and Romantic Wedding Day
Almost six months to the day after my husband proposed, we said "I do," on a sunny April Friday at the Westmount Country Club in New Jersey. I look back in awe to think that we planned our wedding in six months!!! I know this would not have been possible without my amazing husband who was an equal partner in planning our special day. His sister also selflessly stepped in as our unofficial wedding planner and assisted us us with creating our budget, scoping out venues, and staying on a timeline throughout the planning process. For that, we're tremendously grateful. The two weeks leading up to our wedding felt hectic, and at times I wondered how we were going to finalize everything with our busy work and life schedules. Yet we did!
Along with marrying the man of my dreams, the most special part of the day for me was the love and support of our parents, family, friends and amazing wedding party. As the saying goes, "No one succeeds alone." It's true. Our loved ones' blessings, prayers, encouragement and love add to the ingredients upon which we're building the foundation of our marriage. The vast majority of our wedding party traveled from out-of-state for our wedding. Since our engagement, they rallied by our sides planning pre-wedding events, styling the wedding party, flying and driving in to go dress shopping with me, and offering their support whenever necessary. Additionally, family and friends from the Caribbean, Europe, Canada attended to celebrate our union. On our wedding day, we felt buttressed by their love.
We also lucked out with the excellent vendors we worked with for our wedding. At the beginning of planning our wedding, I scoured Munaluchibridal.com along with their Instagram page for ideas. Not only did I get inspired, I also found almost all the vendors we worked on their website and social media pages. This helped us to streamline the vendor hiring process, and we had more time to concentrate on the substantive details of planning our wedding.
The moment we got to the Westmount, we took a deep breath and relaxed knowing that we were in good hands. Now here are a few photos from our special, heart-warming, and beautiful wedding ceremony and reception.
