Nika was born and raised in rural Jamaica before moving to New York as a pre-teen. By day, Nika is an Attorney who is passionate about advocating on behalf of marginalized groups to affect change. She also enjoys writing and sharing information about fashion, beauty, fitness and lifestyle topics on her blogs and social media accounts. Nika currently lives with her husband, son and stepdaughter in New Jersey.

"Irie" is a Jamaican word that essentially means excellent, powerful and pleasing. Through the blog and social media, Nika aims to use the Irie Chic brand to encourage women to live and walk in their purpose by taking care of their inner and outer beauty.
