Celebrating My 32nd Birthday

Last week I celebrated my 32nd birthday. Birthdays mean a lot to me and I usually take time to reflect on my life, my goals, and my desires around my birthday. This birthday I felt incredibly grateful, I feel incredibly blessed in too many ways to count, and I thank God everyday for that. I remember a time in my life where I felt pressured to meet certain milestones within a specific period of time. While I have achieved some of those milestones, it's powerful and sobering to see my life unfold in beautiful ways that I didn't plan.

To celebrate my birthday, I bonded with a close group of friends over dinner, laughter and great conversation at Vandal, a chic and trendy restaurant in the Lower East Side of Manhattan. Next, we went dancing at Negril Village. If you love Caribbean music (and this Jamaican woman loves her reggae and soca), check out their lounge area on a Saturday night.

Dress: Wow Couture, similar here  Shoes: Zara, similar here

I wore a WoW Couture bandage dress that I found in Zalta Boutique, a hidden gem in Flatbush, Brooklyn. They sell a large variety of Bandage dresses if you're looking.

I was so lucky to have my new favorite Brooklyn Makeup artist, glambypeachhie, do my makeup. She listened to what I wanted and SLAYED the look.

For my 32nd year, I am continuing my year of yes.

*I am saying Yes to blogging more consistently and continuing to build and create the vision that I have for my blogs.

*I am saying Yes to paying attention to my needs and desires more, knowing that my values are very important to me.

*I am saying Yes to continue to be more open to more of life adventures (travel more, push myself out of my comfort zone more, practice my faith more etc.)

Cheers,

Nika
