On Sunday I celebrated my friend's birthday at a brunch at 230 Fifth Avenue, a rooftop bar/lounge in Manhattan with a stunning view of the Empire State Building and surrounding areas. I recommend trying the tasty buffet style Sunday brunch and the Irish coffee (especially if you're a coffee lover like me!)
I bought the lace shorts that I'm wearing last summer, but haven't worn them until now, because I hadn't found the right top to pair them with. This bodysuit (featured in this haul video) gave me just the right proportion for high waisted shorts. Plus, the lace detailing on the bodysuit paired seamlessly with the lace shorts. As they say, sometimes it's worth the wait.
My best friend LOVES tea, so when she came to visit me this past weekend, we decide to do afternoon tea. Afternoon tea is a quiet leisurely affair that would give us time to talk, catch up and enjoy some much-needed uninterrupted girl time. I read previously that the Baccarat hotel offered one of the best afternoon tea in NYC and I wanted to see for myself.
There’s something about spending the first Sunday of the year in church. I did exactly that last Sunday with my family. I loved being in an atmosphere giving thanks to God for the blessing of a new year. I put my own spin on the traditional sweater look for sweater weather by pairing this Anthropologie sweater skirt with this fun blouse by Gracia.
I like hacks. It distills a whole into simple achievable steps. Simple achievable steps work when they’re a lot of moving parts in your life, its one of the reasons why I’ve decided that instead of writing down big goals for 2019, I’m going to break each and every one of them down into smaller steps to serve as a guidepost. One such goal involves curating a more sophisticated style. I’ve done my research, and below I’m sharing a few hacks on how you can look more sophisticated and pulled together as you go about your daily life.
2018 was a HUGE year for me. I saw many of God’s promises come to fruition in my life. I moved, married my best friend and gave birth to my son. My life has changed in beautiful and powerful ways. While there’s no one thing that fully defines me, these roles mean that my identity is evolving in profound ways. I’m excited to see what all of this entails.
On Saturday September 29, 2018, I gave birth to my son, RJ. The experience of becoming a mother for the first time is like no other. I've spent the last few weeks bonding with my son and mothering. I'm soaking up the newness of this whole experience.
My Mother-in-Law and cousin threw us a baby shower in early August. Our Baby-Q (isn’t it such an adorable summertime baby shower theme) felt intimate and warmed with the love of our families and close friends who we were thrilled to celebrate with.
I'm currently 38 weeks pregnant and getting everything ready for our baby boy. I'm so excited to meet him! I used to love looking at other people's maternity photos before getting pregnant, and knew I wanted to do one in my third trimester. It's such a great way to document my pregnancy, baby bump and special time in our lives.
Last week, I had the pleasure of visiting the Jojo Maman Bébé boutique in Hoboken, NJ. Jojo Maman Bébé is a mother and baby brand offering quality products at affordable prices. The brand has stores worldwide and recently opened a boutique in Hoboken. There's also a location in Montclair, NJ.
